Unfortunately most large companies outsource to child labor. Everything is bad essentially. The only thing we can do is educate ourselves on the topic more and try our best to buy more from independent run businesses. Which I understand is very hard since their items are more expensive...

This isn't a shock to me, as I but there is no simple solution to problem, especially as drastic as this. Using products that hasn't involved the expense of others is unrealistic, and impossible. Stopping all means of mass productivity today will wreck havoc on progress we've made, and lead us to an eternal 3000 B.C time warp. If child labor stopped, that child would also lose their source of income, making their life more intolerable as it is. George Orwell, the author of animal farm said that "humans and animals cannot prosper together, " as an allegory for the Cold war, and could apply to the idea of an existing hierarchy, or food chain. It has always been that way since life on Earth began. Life is chosen, life could hardly be changed, that's not how it works. Benefits always come with cons, and without risks, there will be no progress.

Actually Nike has gotten ALOT better since they were under fire in the 90's and they are now one of best companies regarding child labor and working codes of conduct

Apple company has a manufacture in China where people dedicate their lives making apple products to the point that they live in that factory. They also have to have social workers and counselors to help the workers with depression. They also put up "suicide nets" around each Windows because there have been cases where they jump out windows from so much depression. It's a very interesting article. Very sad.

It still amazes me how people (Mostly Americans) are surprised by this. Clearly we consume so much that we forget at what goes on behind the scenes.
