Very good topic! Far too few understand anything about how the old Roman system is intertwined with modern nominal Christianity, and it's something that certainly needs more time to be discussed! There are many books that reveal the truths about how Pagan customs came into what is most commonly known as Christianity. One I've read about 9 year back is ( The Book of the Ancient Romans by Dorothy Mills) it's about 300 pages, but it reveals much about how the Ancient Roman Empire rose and fell. Again thank you for this interesting topic! Keep up the good work.

Justinian was an inept and a coward ruler. Buying an expensive peace with the Sasanians in order to accomplish a symbolic conquest of Italy which would not last, plus his dismissal for his Roman subjects through his imposure of straining taxes, brutal repression of riots and dismisdal of the plague makes him the most overrated emperor in roman history.
