🚩 I'm very pleased to have worked with Dr. Byron Waldron on this project. His research and incredible insight into the Crisis of the Third Century made this series possible. The Crisis of the Third Century was one of the darkest periods in Roman history. By 270 AD the empire had practically disintegrated, but emperor Aurelian managed to string an unprecedented series of military victories to restore the Roman Empire. Dr.Waldron will be releasing a book later this year (2021), titled: "Dynastic Politics in the Age of Diocletian, AD 284-311", so make sure to keep an eye on that.

🚩 This mini-series would not have been possible without the excellent research by Dr. Byron Waldron of University of Sydney. He is an expert on the Crisis of the Third Century and will be releasing a book later this year (2021), titled: "Dynastic Politics in the Age of Diocletian, AD 284-311", so make sure to keep an eye on that.

The empire was proved not good enough to deserve an emperor like Aurelian. Killing him like this was a crime against humanity.

Amazing video as usual, by the way.

That was an epic series. Perfectly retold from beginning to end. Thank you for your hard work!

reminds me of caesar in how he dealt with his defeated enemies. And it says a lot that, with only 5 years in the purple, it feels like he honestly earned the right to be considered among the true great emperors

Tetricus, turning around while abandoning his army just before the battle: "bye, suckers! You're all gonna die! 😁"

Just wanted to point out how those creepy sounds when barbarian invasions are shown, always send chill down my spine and really make the whole atmosphere more immersive. Such a small effects brings to mind how terrified the citizens of Roman Empire must have been.
Great videos, great narration! Thank you for all that!

Imagine being a soldier guarding the gate and wall before seeing your fellow comrade being portrayed as the Roman emperor and then later seeing Aurelian himself leading his army beyond the walls, must have been very confusing

So Aurelian fought the Gallic empire at the Cataline Plains that is foreshadowing if ever I saw one

I really like and appreciate, that you cover not only the battle part or the military part, but the political, economic and administrative and other parts, it gives the video the historical events much more depth. If HistoryMarch puts up a new video, it's always a new masterpiece. Thank you so much for making these videos and please keep up the amazing work!

Those poor Clibinarii. Training for years to become expert horsemen clad in the finest of armor, only to be whacked by some dude with a stick.

One of the upsides of being a total history noob is that I can watch this and actually feel the suspense, waiting to see how this will end.

When my interviewer asked me about an interesting character from history, I told about Aurelian and how he restored the empire within 5 years of his reign . I caught their interest as well as the job 👍

A tragic end for such a genius of a general and emperor.
If Aurelian lived the empire would have been rejuvenated for sure.

Amazing work my friend!
