I'm honestly most shocked by how much better the nest mini sounds than the home mini

Google home max is still king in my opinion. Not only does is have better speakers and therefore better audio but it also has aux and USBC input so the speaker can double up as a soundbar for your TV as well as being your smart speaker. I actually bought one recently as they're on sale on the Google store with £100 discount.

Should have used the same section of the song over and over, not cut so the song plays through. The hub only got a small part of the intro for example so it's not particularly easy to compare. Apples to apples please!

I don't mean to be negative, but this video would easily be 10x better if you chose a less minimalistic song. Love the videos, keep it up.

one thing google hasn't said is that there are latency issues when pairing the audio nest to a tv via bluetooth (even as all the promotional material mentions bluetooth connectivity with TV as a feature). I've tried with mine and the lag of more than 1s makes it not viable at all. The tech support admits that these latency issues are NORMAL. Reviews might want to update their articles that suggest using nest audio speakers with the TV Bluetooth function.

if you are looking to use them as tv speakers, DONT DO IT

Is Bluetooth the best way of testing? It could be limited by the Bluetooth bitrate and codecs etc.
Maybe would be better quality streaming over wi-fi, from a hi-res music service?

Yes, the Max was best overall but even the Google Home sounded better than the new one. I have a Google Home., Mini and Google home Max. Might change my Mini in the bedroom for the older Google Home.

Did you test the ML chip on the new Nest Audio? Basically to see if it can learn certain commands that you use. Can you test that? Does that work in your country?

Can you play sound on the new Nest Audio speakers when you play Netflix movie the on new Chromecast? Google has new Nest Speaker and new Chromecast with remote control with Netflix button but I can not find if you can play audio from Netflix running on new Chromecast on Nest Speakers? At this moment you can not play Audio from Netflix running on” old” Chromecast to Google Home Speaker.

All these speakers are pointless to me because none of them can work with any Chromecast or Android TV device as a home theater system. The Apple Homepod, on the other hand, from day one has been able to give you excellent audio from movies/shows you watch in your Apple TV.
