So how do you change from 16" on center to 24" on center? Could you also explain how to figure arches with the calculator please? Thanks a bunch!!

Rick Bricker:  When we mention point to point here, we are referring to long point to long point.  Hope that helps - good luck!

What do you mean when you say point to point for rafter length. Is that the long point of a plum cut to the short point of the other plum cut ?

I have another tip that works well with layover trusses..say you are going to layover a 24' 10 pitch gable on to an 8 pitch roof, , , I would type in 12' run 10" pitch then click 8" conv then Hip/V  then click again Hip/V . The valley should be around 21-7-7/8, hang on the phone is ringing ill be back soon

i use this calc everyday... i use it to to calc  rafters, unequal spans also, and to cut ply wood for roof also, i wish it had a a lock button so i could  convert  the rise of diagonal of a 48" sheet on on a 10 pitch laying over to a 5 pitch...so i have to go 48" diag 5 inch pitch... hit rise, it is now 18 7/16, , , , now i have to clear and type in 18 7/16 rise and 10 inch pitch and that gives me a run off 22" 1/8, , , send me some glasses....  I will show you how to use the calc in real life...
