I'm so glad I was in Japan in the 1980s when I had the opportunity to eat more traditional food. They had some Western foods and plenty of snacks, but not to this extent. The portions were smaller as well.

We kind of accidentally ended up trying the Macha house when we were in Kyoto. It started raining right as the sun went down and we were NOT prepared for rain. So before we got soaked, we raced into the Macha house. Had the dessert, it was really nice! But they were closing soon so we eventually had to leave and got soaked 🙃
