I did a Geneva game before. They can get John Calvin as a leader changing the country to a unique Swiss Canton theocracy.

While the +1 free policy is nice, you can swap to the theocracy reform that gives you -20% fort maintenance.
I believe I got something ridiculous like -75-80% fort maintenance and had a +6 fort on every province I owned by the end of game

This does give a perfect inspiration for an eventual saxony run. Saxony is the home of composer Richard Wagner, and he composed the famous Ring cycle. So, as Saxony, create as many vassal rings around you as possible. You even start with one to begin the chain!

Bruh... read the text when you make a vassal into a march. If your vassal has >25% dev compared to you, they won't get those benefits as a March. You hovered over Savoy's province after to show it, but there was no increase in fort defense for that reason 😂😂

Very fun. I did something similar with switzerland but I stacked hostile attrition as well. If you go Defensive, influence, quantity, and religious you can get the max 5% attrition. I declared once I had level 4 forts and it melted everyone
