In this video I play as the nation of Saxony and I attempt to conquer every Saxony and Lower Saxon culture province and I attempt to get a personal union over the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The main reason why Meissen became Saxony in 1423 was to support Sigismund, The King of the Romans in his fight against the Hussites. He persuaded them to send 6000 cavalry and 2000 archers which they agreed to. Lauenburg, in fact, relied on the document on hereditary brotherhood with Wittenberg, adopted in 1374. It was confirmed by Sigismund in 1414, but was not particularly taken into account. In 1426, it was recognised as a forgery. Thus, the way of Electorate was cleared for the Wettins.

Saxony is my favourite country to play. I was born in Dresden and grew up in Saxony. My first completed campaign was with Saxony and to me this is how eu4 countries should be designed. The modifiers you get are not completely out of hand and you get some really nice flavour. Alot of the newer missiontrees feel like too much handholding, while Saxony is alot more subtle
