I cried on the bird part, I think you can see how good people really are depending on how they treat their animals/ animals in general

Hey just so you know: “All your coworkers hate working with you” is a TACTIC. Same thing happened to me at 18. And after I proved I didn’t do the things they say I did, they reversed and said “it’s a misunderstanding I don’t think anyone has a problem with you” so don’t fully believe that.

That bit about everyone quietly hating you together without your knowledge because you are DOING YOUR JOB really connected with me. I will never try to make friends at work again.

The store I was at was obsessed with sales and they hired me: someone who didn’t gaf about sales and just obsessed with animals and only cared about caring for them. It was the job that finally pushed me into returning to study in zoology. My story I always tell is when a dude came in with the intention of getting his daughter a fish. After going through the steps of selling a fish he felt bold enough to ask me “well what fish can you give me that can live alone so it doesn’t matter if it dies” I promptly told him he needed to bring us a water sample because I won’t be selling him anything. He was mad I wouldn’t sell him a fish to send to its death…. The people who open these stores are business people, not animal people.

as a bird lover myself, It’s nice to see your value of those birds and how you took care of them for their sake even if it had a negative affect later on. respect. justice for bird ✊

Just please don’t buy animals from pet stores. Go to shelters

One time I bought a bird from a pet store (I was in elementary school)
She unfortunately was sick, and the store didn’t tell us. The bird unfortunately passed away.

Being in a toxic workplace sucks. I'm glad you got out. And it was so sweet of you to care for the baby birds, you did great by them when no one else did

Excellent use of color in this one!! So many frames from this video feel like they could make for great profile pictures or something. Really enjoying the evolution of your videos, they’re improving a lot. Keep it up.

I love how YouTube is just recommending me small and medium sized channels so I get to find a lot of rare niche content which I love

I worked at Petsmart during college. The location I worked at was relatively good, but only because most of the employees were like you and me: people who knew what the animals needed and cared anough to advocate for them. The managers mostly cared about sales and other retail-oriented stuff. It was never quite as toxic as what youve descrubed here, but a lot of this video resonated with me. I quit when I realized how apathetic I was becomming about selling animals to people who I knew were not well-equiped to take care of them, or who viewed the animals as simply somethjng to buy for their kid as opposed to a living thing they were responsible for. I hated being numb to that.

I finished my degree and I'm a zookeeper now. Working at an education-focused, AZA-accredited facility is like night and day when it comes to how much more the welfare of the animals is valued and prioritized. I hope you end up finding a career that you enjoy, too.

This video is a good reminder that you need to surround yourself with good people. If your work/school environment isn't good--get out of there. You will be shifted into their desired shape. You will quite literally become the thing you were meant to destroy.

Genuinely started tearing up at the story about the two sibling birbs. I have 3 birds and they're my life and soul. For whatever reason birds, especially parrots are just animals I empathize so insanely hard with I breakdown hearing about conditions some live in. Theyre such intelligent, emotional animals and they're much more aware of their surroundings than people think. All of my animals right now are rescues and I love them so insanely much.

I love the use of pathetic fallacy in this story! The way the background changes colour depending on the mood is a very creative choice.

i actually have been feeling very guilty for needing to surrender my snake baby i had for 9 years when i became homeless... thank tou. i hope she is doing well with an owner who loves and dotes on her, the rescue workers telling me that she looked very healthy after earlier in her life underfeeding her for years did help make me feel better at least. i still miss her :(

the vibe of your videos is so nice. i especially love the slight crackles in the background of art and the audio; paired with the vinyl at the end, each of your videos feels as if i'm watching a vinyl record. i love it.

KEEP THESE VIDEOS UP! I love James and Jaiden, but I really miss the early days of straight-from-the-heart storytelling. Love your channel so much already, Moop!

I used to work at a chain pet store (one of the two big ones lol). So many 'passed on' bugs, fish, mice, rats, we even had guinea pigs and hamsters and birds passing at least once a month. There was a freezer in a back closet where we had to put all the 'gone' animals in ziplock bags and just leave them in the freezer and by the end of the month it would be completely full. It was right next to the sink where we "cleaned" the pet food bowls and kept the sick animals (of which there were always some) on closet shelves next to the freezer, in the dark. There were dogs pissing on the floor multiple times a day. I honestly cannot believe I stayed more than a few days, I only lasted about two months there though before I just stopped showing up because I finally realized how bad it truly was.
