Hi Cody, you may have done an update with another video on this, but these now come with a strain relief bar on the back. Just unpacked 1st of 2 for my 48 port Unifi switch.

I like the color match. I agree that there should be a spot for a label and a tension bar. Also, having a shielded option would be nice.

Get ready for the Unifi patch panel labeller. $249 😉

I've been after some of these for a while as I'm from the UK they were always sold out so I order 2 from USA they were as what you got, I needed another 2 as I was looking UK store was down and it sent me to EU store which they never hardly have stock in and to my surprise they had none in, the next day I looked again and they had them in stock 'Sep 4, 2023' so I quicky grabbed the 2 I needed when they arrived 'guess what' they now come with tension bars - just to let you know :-)

I like that it's not labeled. Easier to use on 48port switches and number my preferred way.

I have been considering these multiple times, but I miss the ability to properly label each port. Right now I use some patch panels from RS and they got a clear plastic piece to remove, and you can then write on the label behind that plastic piece. Instead of using the paper which came with it, I have made a google sheet with the proper cell width, so I can print the dividing lines and all and just cut it out. Looks so good, all text is straight, centered properly over the port, and I can even change text color and background for each section.

Hello Cody, I really enjoy your videos they are always really helpful. Please i have a request, can you make a video on Unifi Spanning Tree Protocol for Link Redundancy like how Cisco have it but for Unifi switches only. For example if you have two Unifi aggregation switches for distribution as Link Redundancy that if an uplink to a switch goes down the other link takes over as how Spanning Tree works.
Many Thanks in advance

On the topic of the tension bar, I can see the need for one if you wereusing punch down keystones to ensure that any tension on the cables doesn't pull out any of the pairs, but if you're using pass-thru keystones, is there really a need for it?

If you plan on using shielded keystones with this panel, how would you ground the panel? Most shielded panels come with a grounding cable so not sure how it would work here

Thanks, good video. Keystone blanks - I would install them only IF airflow requires it (cold / hot aisle)

1 issue I found was that my keystones take up too much space so you need a slimmer keystone if you want to fit all 24 in nicely. I got them all in but I can see them possibly popping out.

I was not aware of these at all . Sigh, of course I’m in Canada . I think this is a great idea and looks very clean. I’m wondering if this panel will be ok with Leviton Extreme 6 keystones, as you sure here a lot about some manufacturers being too wide

I bought a couple of these when they were in EA, I couldn't get my keystones to clip in and so I returned them to Unifi. I also prefer the patch panels that have tensioners so I wasn't too upset.

Question, Why not use Rack stud 2's for convienance? I absolutely love thes things.

1) The missing strain relief is a real drawback
2) The general availability of Ubiquiti products another one.

Hi there!
Would you be so kind and reveal what brand those red patchcables are and maybe share an (affiliate)link?
Cheers in advance!
