The 1991 Redskins Silencer
Stats:
14-2-0 (.875)
Best Offense (485 Points, 30.3 ppg)
2nd best Defense (224, 14 pa/pg)
Accomplishments:
Best Offense in the league
11-0 start
The average score of a Redskins game in '91 was 30-14.
3 shutouts in five games.
Losses totalled losing by 5 points.
5 1, 000 yard players.
Great coach.
Strong team as a whole.
They were balanced
14-2 record despite a hard regular season schedule.
Only 7 sacks allowed
Shut down all teams in playoffs by at least a two score game.
+18 turnover ratio.
De-complishments
Easy playoff schedule
Dwindling sack count.
Not really mentioned as much as it should be in the conversation of great football teams.
Not many starts outside of one or two HoFs and Earnest Byner.
A really good team but not a great team.
5 very tight wins (One score games)
Bunch of no-names.

The 1985 Chicago Bears: All Pros and Devastating on All 3 Levels of Defense. Aggressive Defense on all 3 Levels. You had to love that team.

Somebody needs to do a parody with the same commentators, being completely serious, about the ten worst teams, as if they were the best.

The disrespect toward the '91 Redskins never ends. They played a ton of playoff teams and were still 5 points away from 19-0 FFS!

'85 Bears and '92 Cowboys. When a team is not only dominating their opp, but almost effortlessly and having fun doing it, theyre automatically on the list.

As a hawks fan, I am biased. I would argue for the 2013 Seattle Seahawks. It was the first team in a stretch of 2-3 years that led the league in total defense, fewest points allowed, the biggest season for the LOB (with arguably 2 HoFers in it, possibly a third). Wilson, likely a future HoFer, in only his sophomore season. Beastmode in his prime. Max Unger. The linebacking corps of B Wagz and KJ Wright. And their absolute blowout of the best offense in NFL history in the 2013 Manning-led Denver Broncos, 43-8 in the Super Bowl in an outdoor game. Let's not forget about their NFC Championship game against the reigning NFC Champion, and 12-4 WC (yes, wildcard at 12-4), San Francisco 49ers. Held to just 17 points.

91 Redskins should be on here somewhere They won a championship, finished 1st in scoring offense, and 2nd in scoring defense. They went 14-2, and their two loses were by a combined five points. One of the loses was the last game of the season where the starters didn't even play the whole game. So they could've easily been 16-0. Also, they started the season with three shutouts in five games. And including the post-season, they had 14 games in which they held their opponent to 17 points or less.

Idc what anyone says, the 2013 Seahawks were one of the greatest teams ever, not only beat but dominated the greatest offense in NFL history and had a good enough offense to flat blow people out

'96 Packers? They were #1 in offense and #1 in defense with MVP Favre and won the Super Bowl.

The 1991 Redskins not on the list + the 1985 Chicago Bears not in the top 5 = Discredited List #fightme

I'd love to see the 1984 49ers play the 1989 49ers.

I love how a quarterback has to win a Super Bowl to even be considered among the Greats! In the ultimate team game, but not a team. Having any team that didn’t win the championship on this list; discredits the entire list!

So happy the 89 Niners actually get some credit, it’s crazy to think they had Ronnie Lott, Jerry Rice, and Joe Montana on the same team and the same time. Those 3 guys are arguably all in the top 15 players of all time. Can’t express how underrated that 89 team was.

I wish we could’ve seen the Broncos face the Vikings in that 1998–1999 Super Bowl. When the Falcons upset Minnesota in the NFC Championship, you knew Atlanta had no chance against Denver.
