I've done stuff like this. You go look at a piece of equipment and the guy says it won't start, move, work. You look at the fuse or open the choke valve or like your situation, you basically unstuck a stuck stick and it works perfectly. I've even fixed them right in front of the person. Many times they are shocked. I tell them to have a nice day and leave. Many of them tell me to take the machine anyway. Many thank me for saving them time and money.

Ha, a few weeks ago I answered an ad about a washing machine that didn't work, but she needed it removed before te new one arrived. I went to her house and as I pulled it away from the wall, I noticed the socket was black. So I asked where her Fuze panel was. Sure enough it tripped. I flipped it and it tripped again. I ended up changing the wall socket that was defective. Plugged in the washer and it worked. Saved her a few hundred dollars.
