I hate when I have super high spectations for one book and it ends being so bad :( I think it's so sad when the novel is well written but you can't connect with any character and find tension and a good climax in the plot. 😫

Oh my gosh I totally get what you said about rating books about asian low and scared that it's going to discourage people from writing/publishing asian books, but I think the thing about racially diverse books is that just because it has poc in it does not make it good. People and characters are so much more than their race, and race is so so important, but I never like a book just because it has asian characters. Supporting a diverse cast of characters is so so important, but that doesn't mean we can neglect quality of the story. I guess that's racial equality for ya, if I can hate on books with all white characters, I'm going to hate on a book with characters of color if it's also just bad if that makes any sense :p

I need good books that aren't historical fiction because that's all I read. I'm 11 and yes I lied about my age but my parents let me so be quiet. Anyways, the books I loved to read were The war that Saved my Life, The war I finally won, Resistance, Refugee, The boy in the stripped pyjamas, The little prince, Horizon (although I don't think I'll read the sequel), The fault in our stars, Freak the Mighty, and I am currently reading Beverly Cleary my own two feet and Number the Stars. So please recommend me some good books :]
