📚what books I read in February 😬

February was a rough month for reading but we got through a few good reads before a rough start of two books I struggled to get through. But I ended the month strong with a bunch of solid reads and I'm looking forward to the books I've got in March :D

I read the whole ACOTAR series after you were so excited about ACOSF last month... And OMG I'm so glad I did. I wasn't that into the first book but each book got heads and shoulders better than the last. Such a generous, series I can't remember the last time had so much fun reading or wanted to binge a book series so much. Many thanks for recommendation. I hadn't read any fantasy since I was a teenager and I'd forgotten just how delightful and entertaining it can be. Totally loved it, will definitely read them all again and excited to add other fantasy series into my TBR lists now. You're a dead set legend Lisa! 💜📖

I love your book updates! I've started reading again partially because of your what I read in January video. I think showing us how you borrow library ebooks made an easy path (obvious now of course) where it once felt like paper books were my only option. I'm on the second book of N.K. Jemisin's Broken Earth series and I'm having so much fun getting into reading as a part of my day again after many years of neglecting it. Thank you for your insights and suggestions!

Last year I read hardly anything. The stress of everything really impacted my attention span and I struggled. This year I have set an target to read two books a month which is hardly anything compared to what I would read in a ‘normal’ year but I’m enjoying getting back into reading again.

Both you and plant based bride have been great for my never ending ‘to be read’ list

I just finished A Court of Silver Flames, now I’m reading Pleasure Activism by adrienne maree brown. ~completely agree about your take on the Crescent City book, it was...not what I had hoped it would be. Enjoy the rest of your day!!

I love book videos! I’m also a fan of Plant Based Bride. Funny about the phone thing because I read so much more now that I have the Libby app on my phone. If you flip into airplane mode, then it’s easier to read without the notification distractions.

I just finished Before We Were Yours which was intense but really great.

I hate that I DNRed the Ocean Vuong book. So difficult to read that kind of poetry prose on top of the emotional and physical trauma. Agreed. So hard to get through. Maybe I’ll revisit it or do the audiobook perhaps. Also I’m reading Akata Warrior right now - so glad you suggested that series. Used to watch a lot of Nollywood movies and I have Nigerian relatives so the culture and accents feel familiar and ...comforting? Lol. I really love it!
