Our Basal Metabolic Rate is the amount of calories our body needs to keep our organs, tissues, and glands healthy and alive in a 24 hour period. Women have lower BMR's than men.

BMR is generally the least amount of calories you need which doesn't even include digestion, exercise or any physical activity. YOu multiply from 1.3 to 1.7 depending on your activity or more if you train hard. So, if you train for 1 hour a day and your BMR is 1600. Multiply 1600 x 1.7 is 2720. Now if you wanna lose weight, drop 300-500 calories, and if you wanna gain weight 300-500. See hour body respond and go from there.

With Macros Carbs can be -45-55%, Protein 25-30%, Fat 20-25%

What he meant, and what he said are completely opposite. I think most of us were able to deduce what he meant but this is a really good definition of something not being explained clearly and it’s the type of situation where someone would say “you knew what I meant”when you call them out on medical professionals have got to get better at explaining things because everyone is not working at the same baseline of intelligence

Ok so PT who is a nutritionist. Has given me a BMR of 1300. I have never been on this amount of calories before it has usually been around 2700 or something to those standards.I train 5 to 6 days a week. I do not understand why he has me on this amount. And everyone else says that it is too low for a woman and I should be on something like 2000. The only reason I think this amount is because I have plateaued in training doing strength and now I want to cut and tone. Maybe my metabolism has slowed down also with age as I am 47. Can anyone add to this on what they know. Thank you

I have a question I can't seem to find answered on YouTube. Obviously with the BMR formula you plug in your weight/height/age. How often, if at all would you want to re-calculate your BMR. When I started my weight loss I began at 148 now I'm 140 would it be healthy to continue losing weight based off the original calculations?

1 kg of fat = approx 9000 calories, so in your example it takes that person 9 days to loose 0.5 kg.
