That just shows the republic was not messing around

The CGI work in rogue one was immaculate. Debris floating off the stsr destroyer, the guns on the corvette shaking when impact is made, and you can even see the atmosphere escaping through the cracks in the armor panels after the two star destroyers collide.

Really shows how far tech has advanced in the universe. A cruiser from the old republic, a ship of the line back then, is just a tiny frigate compared to ships like the ISD

Hammerhead ships were like a spear of the space battles. You can invent how many new things you want but the pointy stick is always a good choice

Pretty sure Pablo Hidalgo confirmed these are not Old Republic ships but in universe were throw back designs.

Technically different ships.

I can’t believe that in just 2930 years this thing will be overtaken in service life by the B-52

The hammerhead is one of my favorite Star Wars ships.

- "With this new ship we will maximise our forwarding facing weapons"

*only uses 4 cannons*

The amount of maintenance that ship needs would be absurd.

For those confused, the ancient ships were large cruisers, while the ship in Rogue one was a small corvette.

They shared a similair appearance, but the size and layout of the ships were very different.

You know, it actually makes sense why ship structural design wouldn't change much overall. In modern craft our main concern is what goes inside the craft like weapons and technology to make it better, but very little structural engineering would be needed that far into a (for lack of a better word) "tech tree" because engineering been perfected and the structure has nothing to improve on. So you'd just keep making the same ship with better and better insides and maybe use different materials.

Floating battering rams is the simpler term for them

fucking loved that scene. Took part in one last deciding battle for the republic.

I never noticed this and I'm a huge KOTOR fan. Bravo!

Exactly! It's so obvious that aggressive looks, especially with sharp angles, are the Siths' preferred ship design. And yet no one in the Republic, not even the Jedi with centuries of record keeping, stop to ask: "Why are the clone trooper ships looked like Sith warships?"

My second favourite Star Wars ship design behind the Venator.

After enough velocity, mass takes on a offensive quantity all it's own

If TF2 could do it almost 10 years ago with Mann vs Machine, how the hell couldn't Blizzard do it with Overwatch 2?
