I worked on an exploration vessel in the carribbean for 6 years in the 90's. Experienced many terrible storms and high seas. The ocean is no joke. Still, there are often times the sea is calm and quiet. Like a mirrors, just flat glass like. Beautiful...During high seas the crews have prepared the vessel to the utmost and most are in their bunks praying to awaken safe when the weather subsides. There is nothing more beautiful than a sea just after a storm has passed. Cool wind, clear blue sky, and calm blue water. Awesome to experience.
