Kind of weird that the story is more focused on the Sonic Boom than the death of the pilot and crash

Wow. A pilot crashes and presumably dies (you don’t even mention it?!?) and this story is all about the sonic boom from the intercepting fighters? Are adults putting these stories together?

You have to feel a sonic boom in person to hear and feel how loud it is. We used to experience them all the time in the 1960s.

Imagine being a passenger on this plane and flew for an hour before crashing and having no idea your pilot had been passed out half the flight.

So.. uhh.. what happened to the plane. Great journalism here guys

So, zero information about the plane and the pilot but focused heavily on the sonic boom? This is why people hate the media.

No one commented about the plane going down. I guess it crashed? Was the pilot retrieved and identified?
It sounds like the pilot either passed out, had a heart attack, or some other malady caused him to be unresponsive. Sad. RIP to the pilot, and condolences to the family.
Yes, the sonic boom made everyone go outside and look up. I am glad the news was reported, and we weren't left wondering..

Back in the 60’s & early 70’s, I grew up hearing sonic booms all the time! I was terrified of thunder storms when I was a little girl, and I’d freak out when I heard the booms! We were only a few miles from the St. Louis airport, midway between Whiteman & Scott Air Force based. We also had USAF jets constantly flying over our area.

"Loud boom heard after fighter jets scrambled to intercept small plane" could have been "Sonic boom heard..." or "Sonic boom from fighter jets caused some people to..." This is supposed to be a news station, not a grocery store tabloid.

I live in Manassas, VA, which is approx. 10 miles from Quantico Marine Corps Base artillery area, and hear booms all the time, some that shake windows, but this sonic boom sounded like something struck our house. Faster than the speed of sound! Imagine being the fighter jet pilot! Government keeps many things in their back pockets, and we can only scratch the surface..

I’ve witnessed a low flyby followed by the sonic boom, it’s the scariest thing because you don’t see them, by the time you hear it, they are gone. Imagine that in war….no chance to react, you’re toast.

People aren't used to hearing sonic booms anymore.

I would love to hear what the pilots of the military jets were hearing and what their orders were

What kind of small plane was that and why weren't the names of the victims released yet🤔
My Spidey senses says there's more to this story than what they're saying😊

RIP to that pilot who was incapacitated.

and on a side note, im sure that fighter pilot is loving all of the attention that his sonic booms have caused the area.

DC Residents: “The sky is falling.”
Military Families: “Daddy, was that an F-16?” “Yeah, your mom used to fly one.”
