I live on an acreage property. Realistically you can do this this way but you will need a lot of equipment along your journey.

Starting off

Tractor with front end loader
Bush hog for your tractor
Tiller for your tractor

So many tractor

This just to develop your land and also keep it at Bay.

A filtration system for your rainwater system.

A shed to house does not come finished.

So you would need

Installation

Run electricity for it

Run plumbing

Sheetrock tape mud

And all your household finishes

Septic tank and a drainage Field

Great plan, but be prepared because you will become your own government you run the electricity you run the water, you run the sewage system.

Nobody to call but yourself.

I have a co-worker doing this. He's 3 months in and already has a camper to live in, set up water reservoirs that collect rain water. He has a strong river that can help produce power like 8-10 months of the year (until he saves up for solar panels and wind power generators). I really respect him for it, but I'm not driving 5 hours to help him set it up, lol sorry.

i purchased a old farm in 2011 (bornholm denmark) in forclosure for 10, 000$ paid off in 2 years, the main house burned down last year, that left me unhooked to the grid but i had a good bit of solar and wind turbines laying around got ahold of lipo4 280ah cells for battery, purchased a couple of caravans as temporay living quarters til i can remake 1 of the old brick barns into a decent living space, , i aint getting on the grid again, last winter the power companys charged ppl 1$ per kw!! and had record profits while ppl were losing their houses

We did it by selling our house purchasing land like a a rain catchment tank and solar panels. Took a few months to set it all up but now we've been living this way for two years and are building our cabin. And like you we're doing it on YouTube
