I’m 35, quit my job three weeks ago and I’ve never felt more inspired and motivated! I’ve given myself 6 months where I’m able to have zero income, which has given me the courage to start up my own company! So far I’ve loved every step of this process!

*Happy poverty is an honourable condition, for if it is happy, it is no longer poverty; a man on good terms
with poverty is the one truly rich. Poor is not the one who has little but the one who wants more, for the thirst of want is never slaked or sated.* - Seneca, Letters to Lucillius (+ a bit from Cicero's Stoic Paradoxes)

You can't say you retired with NO money if you have a couple rental properties providing cash flow. That and a wife bringing in some bacon. Still, it's impressive to have enough to get by. I sometimes wish I could be good at the real estate game. I did the stock route and do OK, so it's not bad.

Awesome! Congratulations. I’ll be 55 in a few days. I’ve been self employed for over 20 years. It is a challenge and I do love a simple life. It was ideal until the pandemic. Still I’m glad and grateful for my life. No debt and make more money. That is key!

You are wealthy as long as your passive income is greater than your expenses. Great motivation

Gabe has 3 houses and is married before 30. While my single self had to move back home with my mom before the pandemic at 30 😬😬😬

Your story's great. I'm working towards a similar goal so I can really focus on what I'm passionate about during my peak hours of the day. Cutting back on food was a big one. Sweet potatoes and lentils are my go-to for healthy and cheap food

I live off a small YT income too. My expenses are low, so is my income. Life is good.

Friends: "Hey Gabe, how come you have so few things?" Gabe: "I am too lazy to shop". lol You are very lucky to own property at your age, it is becoming out of the range of many people; especially in the larger cities.

Good story. I’m in the process of doing the same and some people think I’m nuts walking away from a high paid job! #less work /more life

Good for you man! I did the same at age 30 and do not regret it at all. Life is too short to not do something you love. Enjoy everyday!

Hi Gabe,

I’m a 30 y/o female and I started working at 15. Started off making $7.50 and now have a comfortable salary of 160K and 40k from my investment properties. I am so tired of the Grind and want to retire.

I’ve done exactly the same! Though it sounds like in the UK it’s much harder to get mortgages without a salaried job.. I’m 25 and just finishing up getting my second property. My “retirement” jobs have been teaching yoga and a little bit of book keeping so far. It’s nice to hear that someone else has had a similar idea - sort of validates my choices a little. We’re both very lucky ☺️

After the wave of how I retired with ~ 20/30 videos, I can already imagine in ten years from now another wave of videos coming: "How I got to get out of retirement back to work at ~30/40"😅
