As a chef with 30 years of experience I will say the first time I ate Indian food especially Biriyani was the day I decided to learn all the recipes I could the variety of seasonings they use are some of the most flavorful meals I have ever eaten or cooked

Lawndale has a sizable cluster of South Asian restaurants. Located approximately around Inglewood and Marine Avenues, they are mainly Muslim/Pakistani/Halal. Al Noor is probably the most recognized but there are many others in and around that area.

I grew up on Jamaican food, and South Asian food was a fast favorite because it's one of the most flavorful cuisines. Jamaican will always be my number one, but South Asian is right up there. So good!
