I'll tell you what insurance companies hate. Me pressing a $95 uninsured motorist claim. The adjustor said "It's a commercial vehicle. It has insurance." After a blank lookup from the DOT and no response from the sheriff, I said "prove it."

The truck had no insurance.

Not been an adjuster myself but have worked in a kind of similar role. I always had many "clients" I was working and negotiating with at any one time and typically had a kind of ball-park target that was worked out by a pretty complex calculation based on many factors of the many cases. It was common to gauge each client in order to try to fit the target to them all in a kind of blanket. In doing this, if a client came off as "above average" in their level of knowledge, nuisance and negotiation skill, I would typically move them more to the center of the distribution curve, whereas less savvy clients were moved towards the edges. The purpose of this was to try to get a low-ball figure that was most likely to be accepted (or minimally negotiated) early on. The real cost of such things is not necessarily the final payout, it's the time and effort that goes into arriving at that payout, the shorter time that takes, the better. By asking these questions, you establish yourself as someone that will be immediately placed at the higher end of the distribution and as someone they'll want to deal with quickly.

Also ask " How long did you sell used cars before you became an insurance adjuster?" But in a nice way so as to not piss them off as was mentioned in the video.

is it possible for something electronic to be struck by a lightning surge and then not work but still have power?? specifically an electronic entrance gate. It was working, lightning struck and then it didnt. Ins adjuster sent a tech out and he told my husband “well, there is power going to it”. What does that mean?? He will tell my insurance company that it was not damaged by lightning??

Auto Insurance/accident laws may differ from state to state. Do your due diligence for your state/before you chose an attorney to help you with your claim.

Questions:

1. Is it worth filing a bad faith claim ( law suit) against an adjustor/ insurance company for an extra $7000 on a vehicle?

2. I'm in PA which is a limited tort state. I've had some injuries to my head & neck and need PT for 4 to 6 weeks; concussion, mild to severe brain trauma, favet jount & disk damage ( lost my ability to formulas words the first day and had left side jerking), neck pain, now frequently loss of memory.

I have two adjustors; a medical and a auto if I accept a check from the auto adjustor ( which I doubt we'll ever reach an agreement) does that mean I'm also settling on the medical ?

3. Can I file a bad faith claim on my own against an auto adjustor and would i have a chance or would their attorney run me over?

The insurance company will first send out a junior adjuster to, ”Swoop and settle.” Low ball offer with pretense of being your best offer. It’s amusing to see how they deflect questions as to additional costs and medical bills not yet tendered. They will throw in a time pressure and tell you their boss already said the deal they are offering is too generous but they’re doing you a favor. This initial offering may not actually cover your direct costs. Be nice but show them the door. Then go find a law firm that handles these case, hopefully without a mega ad budget and flashy billboards. You’ll find that their fee is regulated by the state hand in hand with the bar association. It’s just the way it is. You can ask for a lower fee schedule but you won’t get it. What you will get is a much higher payout to you offer when they send their first demand letter. The second demand letter will get closer to the policy limits. The best offer comes when the suit is actually filed. The law firm’s fees go up with the court appearance so listen to them when they give an assessment of your chances in court and attendant expenses.

Also get a briefing on the realistic chances of recovery. If the offender is underinsured, there is rarely a way forward beyond the policy limits. Uninsured motorist coverage can be vital in pursuit of pain and suffering claims in some states and in some places, the injury must be permanent to warrant an award.

While the bottom line in the video is don’t piss off the adjuster, I’d say, be polite and don’t deal with the adjuster in the first place. The insurance company wants a settlement and the case off their books in a fairly short period of time. They will pay an extra margin to do just that.

I was involved in a car accident in May 31 at a gas station where a tow truck driver dropped a car at a pump didnt put the brake and it was slowly rolling back, he tried to hurry up and go around (with his fork still out ) but he didnt have enough room so he reversed and didnt look back when i was already there, after he crashed me fender he jumps out to stop the car rolling back as it was about to hit the back side of my car as well

Insurance adjuster also stated that he wasnt on the policy but hes a tow truck driver driving daily ?

Still havent gotten a offer and adjuster states it still in ongoing investigation on whos at fault …. Please Help 🙏🏼

Help! Im so stressed out.

Does an apraiser have to physically look at your car to totally it out or can he do this by photographs ?

The auto adjustor I'm dealing with from Liberty Mutual told me she was going to have my car picked up from my house and taken to a " stagging area" . I questioned this and asked several times for her to have the appraiser come to my house by she ignored me, I found out later she had it towed to a major online Auction house by the name of Copart.

After her lowballing me twice and lowering hwr first offer and weeks of stalling ( emailing late fridays after all week of silence) I called the Auction house and asked if they keep a log book and was told yes, anyone who looks at my car has to sign it and was told no body had come out to access / appraiser my vehicle.
