Dragon Ball taught me that ganging up on an opponent is a handicap, you need to send your strongest. If multiple weak fighters attack an enemy then the enemy will pick off the weakest ones first... thus leaving the strongest to focus on protecting the weak

That's when the enemy catches the strong ones off guard

Its understandable why goku didnt want them to fuse here.
I do wish gt had them fuse during the super 17 arc or better yet have gotenks face off against one of the shadow dragons.

That fusion plus Gohan and SSJ4 would’ve destroyed Baby Ape but the budget was too weak 😊
