Rogue Bella Bar Review: Best Women's Barbell Ever Made?!

preview_player
Показать описание
The Rogue Bella Bar is the best-selling women's barbell of all time. But...is it the best 25MM?

The Rogue Bella Bar has been in existence nearly as long as Rogue Fitness has. It was their original bar designed for female CrossFit Competitors and those that prefer a lighter and thinner shaft barbell.

At 25MM and 15 KG, although this is largely considered a "women's barbell" it could be used by anyone.

For this review, we had GGR Lead Editor and Olympic Weightlifter, Kate, give her opinion of the bar and how it compares to other 25MM barbells she's trained with.

Enjoy!

"If you're moving a barbell you're doing something positive in your life." Quote of the year.

Love the female perspective, have her on more often! We like our barbells too😀

I’m a guy and I bought a 25mm bar for my home gym for several reasons.
1. My space is limited and the shorter bar allows a bit more maneuverability. The shorter sleeves are long enough as long as you don’t use bumper plates.
2. You feel the bending sooner (good for a old guy that still remembers lifting heavier weight).
3. The smaller diameter feels better on deadlifts.
4. Being a girl-bar reminds me that I’m no longer competitive (I’m 67) and shouldn’t be showing off and hurting myself.
Reasons not to buy:
1. It’s lighter and after using a 20k bar for years it takes a second to figure how much weight you really have on the bar.
2. Mine has pink on the inner sleeve edge and takes 28% off my manliness quotient.
3. The smaller diameter puts a narrower load path on palms and back when doing benches and squats, making it less comfortable for these lifts when using heavier weights.
4. If I were to use bumper plates, the loading length may be too short for heavier lifts.
5. If space isn’t a concern the full diameter/full length is probably a better choice unless you have family members who would benefit from the lighter weight and diameter.

Just my observations.

I loved the duo review/presentation from you and Kate.
All if your videos are well-made and thorough yet compact, this was no exception.
Thanks for this review Kate & Coop!

I own the Bela bar by Rogue and I'm a guy. I got it because its shorter in length than the traditional 45-lb bar and better fits in my basement gym. Its 33 pounds I believe, so its easier to move around my smaller gym. I love it! 5 years now and no rust or tarnish.

It's all about equality... make 29mm shafts with aggressive knurling the standard for all!! :)

Coop brings it every review! Kate was the MVP of this one! Am I crazy or was there another female athlete in the beginning? Great review GGR Team!

My wife loves her pink cerakote Bella. One of the best things we picked up for the gym! The cerakote, however, significantly dulls the knurling. IMO it already has very passive knurling, but with the cerakote finish it becomes almost non-existent. She doesn't mind though, so it's never been an issue for her.

As a dude with smaller hands I love this bar!
It also takes up less space so it's great in a studio apartment!

Hey Coop, seeing Kate mention barbell care/maintenance, have you ever put a video out on any tips/tricks or products you recommend for cleaning and maintenance?

No details on the different bushings of the different versions… The stainless version has composite bushings, why is there no mention of that ? What impact (durability, spin, etc) does it have ? This feels more like an intro to 15KG barbells, and an observation that black zinc will fade (without telling people they will then have to care for their bar like a bare steel one after that) rather than a full review.

I love my Bella bar. I have the Davidsdottir blue one. I’ve never lifted before I got my home gym.

I'm a short guy with wee hands. I used this bar at the last gym I went to. I think it's time to get one for my home gym!

I actually thought they were going downstairs🤣

I'd have to say the stainless version of the Bella is the best women's bar, but you know me. 👍Additionally, great job on camera and detailing your experiences with the bar, Kate!

The Bella Bar is a MUST HAVE in home / garage/ commercial gyms
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 💯🌟
Woman, teenagers, young adults reach for the Bella bar more often than a 7 foot bar with larger diameter ✅
We have outfitted all our gyms with at least one version of the Bella Bar, but the black zinc is standard
Home gym owners looking for a shorter bar = Bella bar is perfect
Home gym couples on a budget for only one bar, get the Bella as both can use it, and if need thicker get a pair of Fat Grips
Of all the versions, the Bella Black zinc is what most people, and gym owners, women, couples, young adults prefer = feels better, looks original
Thanks Coop 🙌

A solid 25mm barbell can be used for big deadlift ( in home gym) if we avoid violent reception/fall (exit squat)

I went with the texas power bar 10kg starting strength bar for my wife. For someone that has never lifted in her life it was perfect.
