How to make a rustic flag using pallet wood

I make a rustic US flag from pallet wood. I hope you all like it.

Overall dimensions of the flag are:
40 inches wide by 21-1/2 tall.
Each stripe is 1-5/8 inch wide
The stripes for the blue field are 16-/34 long.

EDIT: STAR TEMPLATE

The pallet that I used had boards that were 40 inches long. I ripped the different planks in to 13 individual strips that were 1-5/8 inches wide. I took seven of those strips and cut them at the 16-3/4 inch mark these seven strips make up the blue field for the stars. I sprayed painted everything the appropriate colors and glued and screwed the pieces on to a backer/hard board. I created a stencil for the stars and traced those on to blue tape and cut out each one to act as a template. Then masked everything off and sprayed the stars.

Man I have to tell you, I saw this video last month and I went out, got some old pallets and made a few.  Basically using the same measurements.  The stars can be tough, but I used the basic outline you provided and cut the out of the paper.  Then I used painters tape, covered the whole union, and cut the stars out, peal them and spray them white.  I only charge $50 and people love these!  I can't make them fast enough or enough of them.  I take my time and I really try going for that rustic look.  It takes me about 6 hours (including drying time) to really make a good one.  I just wanted to say thank you.  Awesome job and thanks for the star outline, you saved me a lot of time.  Great job!

Wow using white and ivory on top gave the absolute perfect effect, genius! I'm making one of these for my husbands office. I did a coin holder and wish I'd thought to use white ivory burgundy and of course blue. I love it!

My wife and I LOVE this idea.  I'm struggling with the length to cut "Field of stars".  I know there are plenty of mathematical equations available online.  Can you help me out?  What was overall board length and then the ones you cut for field of stars length?

Just curious if there was any reason that with the Bright White and Ivory paint you went with the Krylon Cover MAXX and the Oxford Blue and Burgundy you went with the Krylon Cover Master?? or was that's just what was available?

What other paint brands have some of you tried?

How big is each stars? When we try to print your template it won't print in the correct size. Thanks for the video
