Shave to Remember

To raise awareness of suicide and psychological health issues both with paramedics and the wider community, Team Manager Don Gillies shaved his legendary long locks off in an event called Shave to Remember. Don should be congratulated for initiating what was a fantastic display of collaboration between VACU, PEER Support, Ambulance Victoria and Ambulance Employees Australia. The aim of the event was to encourage all members of our workforce who are dealing with issues like depression and anxiety to talk about it with their workmates and seek help.

Don't bottle it up, you're not alone. PEER support, VACU and the SMART program are available for all Ambulance Victoria employees to use in dealing with any issues they have. Call 1800 MANERS to seek help.
