Remember that treat we were talking about last Friday? Well.. a little while ago Jonah took flight to the Caribbean so Miky took over the business as usual at the academy for a day. He made the occasion less usual by doing a shaving demonstration at the end of the 3-day course!

If there’s someone who did A LOT of shaves, it’s Miky… During the demo he said: “I love doing shaves, maybe more than doing haircuts… It’s very relaxing, a shave should be like a spa experience”.

It’s nice finding that place where you can just go and chill out, whether it is behind or in the chair!

I got a shave like this prior to my cousins wedding a few years back. Being in the military for 11 years, I had to be clean shaven just about every day. I thought I did a good job with a good razor, but after this shave, I never thought I’d be that smooth ever again. Well worth it even if you only try it once!

My dad was an old school barber from 1946 until his death in 2011. He gave old school straight razor shaves and straight razor haircuts. He was a master at DA's, flat-tops, fades and crew cuts. Wonderful, fast barber that carried on great conversation at all times. He had a 3-chair shop that they called Gestapo headquarters. All kinds of information flowed in/out of that shop. I can remember the plastic garbage bags he would fill with hair that he cut. He cut over 400, 000 heads of hair in his lifetime...pretty amazing. And raised a family of 5.

I love the clean, fresh look! For several years, that ratty looking I-haven't-shaven-in-weeks look was all the rage. It's so nice to see all the barbershops that have cropped up in recent years with options for real grooming for men of all ages.

OMG....How I miss this treatment! 25 years ago I was in a barber's chair having this done every Tuesday and Friday.

Can't find a barber who still does it. I used to fall asleep in the barber chair
