I feel for this man.Went to military school when i was a teenager. i had a friend in there that was black. We had to shave every morning and using a razor everyday for him was brutal

Clippers and a shaving waiver my friend. Had plenty of brothers life get a lot easier in boot camp when those came through.

Get an old school, double edged, single blade razor. Use Proraso shave cream and Aqua Velva after shave. You will probably need to shave twice to get a military grade shave but it can be done.

I used to be a barber right outside of fort Hood in my younger days. 99% of my clientele was black. Come Friday Lunch time, damn near all those guys with profiles that were lower enlisted would show up "ey bro crop it down and line me up"😂. Then go into hiding for the rest of the day to avoid ssg and above.

I have follicolitis and I can't shave without getting painful bumps. Went 4 years in the navy without a no shave chit. Was not fun. Now I have one. Better times.

I had friends with this problem and they used " Magic Shave " and some were able to use a single blade sharp razor with a guard.

if you're that dedicated, you get it lasered. fort gordon had that option at the mtf on base. a few of my friends took advantage of it too.

Jake when I was on active duty Marine Corps I shaved everyday with a straight razor. Bumps everywhere and dried blood. But some punk Major (Bn. XO) apparently out of nowhere didn’t like me because I was close friends with 3 boot Lieutenants whom I’ve know since we were babies with pacifiers through college. Quantico is the home of punk officers! Yes I’m still bitter 40 years later because I was going to fly choppers in the Army and had passed with very high scores! In other words if I see that Punk it’s on! Black males have to shave in the Corps or else? We all grew up in the DC area and graduated from U of Md. 78-84 Semper Fi

It's funny how he had to think about whether he can use clippers. I'm black, and I know from experience that if you shave consistently, it only takes a week or 2 for your skin to get used to shaving, even if you break out at first.

This is a serious question, why do they ask you to shave your face, I get having your head hair buzzed but why the clean shave? What’s the valid reason they don’t want it? For looks or what ?

The navy is pretty generous with shave chits, just gotta go through a few days once you get to boot camp where you gotta shave before you see a doc. But after that you just gotta keep it neat
