2022 GoXLR Console Setup Guide (SimultaneousGame and Party Chat)

In this video I am showing you how to set up and configuring your GoXLR to give you the best possible audio quality for your streams and recordings from a console. The GoXLR is an amazing audio device that acts as a mixer, interface, preamp, and sampler all in one, but sometimes it can be a little tricky setting it up to a console and configuring the options to get the right sound, which includes gamechat and party chat from the console. I appreciate you watching the video.

Can confirm this still works in 2023 as of Monday February 13th.
Had most of the cables laying around. Still feels like magic to me even with the explanation.

Thanks my dude. 👍

I have my Goxlr mini and xbox series X set up exactly like it is in this video. I"m using an Elgato 4K60 pro internal capture card. When I hooked this up I can hear game chat but they can't hear me with my rode podmic connected to my goxlr. Do we know if any firmware updates blocked using a xlr mic to be heard in console game chat since this video was made?

Set up everything the exact same way and it works, just having issues with the mic being extremely loud on Xbox. Played with the line out and it’s either too much or off. Any help?

Understand something brother. This is exactly how a video should be when it comes to explaining what people need to do in order to get something to work. Good shit.

I do have questions though. Will this setup still work with the MixAmp pro tr for PS5? And if I have a FiFine audio mixer instead of a GoXLR because I’m poor😂? I know FiFine doesn’t have it’s own software, so would I just add all of those tracks via ONS

Thank you for this video. You said one thing that helped me out tremendously on my Series X, GOXLR setup.

Okay what I did for the PS5 is get a USB sound card, two aux cables that go to the line in/out on the GoXLR. Now I can hear the audio and send the XLR mic to the PS5 and PC. For the Xbox since it doesn’t support a USB sound card, a splitter is required and this needs to be plugged into the controller.

Many ways to skin a cat so just posting my solution. If you want you can get a audio extractor for the optical cable back, for the newer gens.

At 7:42 you're talking about the Mixer section on the GoXLR, and your source is set to Music. Are the settings the same for every Source there? Or do you only have to play around with the Music source?

Hey @Kilo_A2K, I have a few things that are different and hope to have some questions answered.
I got the astro mixamp plugged exactly how it is with my GoXLR Mini to my Xbox Series X but I'm still not able to get my voice to the console.

Q1: Does it matter what specific aux cords and splitter I need?
Q2: I have a GoXLR Mini, will that be an issue since you are using a GoXLR?
Q3: Could I still get my voice through without having the aux cable plugged from stream port of the mixamp to the line in on the GoXLR? I already have console audio with an optical cable and audio extractor from Xbox to GoXLR Mini.
Q4: I wanted to try using Voicemod as my main mic to sound out to the Xbox, do you know if that will be possible with my GoXLR Mini?

Let me know as soon as you can. This idea of talking to console game chat from goxlr with voicemod has been my issue for months!

Question for you. I don’t have a GoXLR, but I am trying to do something similar to your setup. I have an Xbox elite series 2 controller, a wired headset, a usb condenser mic, and the mixamp. I am trying to figure out how to connect all of them and get them all to work at the same time, but I have no idea how. Would I set it up similar to how you have it in this video, except connect the mic and the headset directly into the mixamp instead of into the GoXLR? I could use some help - I’m not a tech guy lol.

quick question, are you able to use the goxlr features in party chat like eq/compression and all of that? because im assuming your mic profile doesnt save on the goxlr without the goxlr app open right?

Are you integrating an Elgato capture card into this setup?

I set everything up same as you and got it all to work but was wondering if you can get voicemod and stuff like that to work on console and if so how

Do you have anything plugged into the Xbox controller? If not, how are you able to send your voice to game chat? By that I mean, how are you able to send audio to the Xbox system if you don’t have anything plugged into the controller

What’s the point of the splitters if your only using one of the 2?

Apathec_

I curious if you need a stand alone microphone or can i just use my headset mic?

It looks like you are only using one side of each splitter? You plugged the green male into XLR phones port and then plugged in headset, but didn’t use the mic end of splitter.
Then the M to F splitter used in the Mixamp is only using the pink side with GLI into XLR. Can you confirm that’s correct? Thanks!

Well dude, was hyped when I saw your video in hopes that I'd finally get my GOXLR to work with my xbox series x in game chat. However, your method didn't work for me. Done exactly everything the way you did. Thought possibly my cables might have been faulty so I even used your links to order new ones. (you're welcome) But sill didn't have any luck. I believe it's because of the update on the firmware. And this was an entirely new hornet's nest. I spent many hours just trying to get the new firmware to update. Tried manually and everything. I've watched tons of vids and read tons of content on this issue. Some have had luck, but others like myself have not. Anyways, this "puppy" is going back to BestBuy and I'm going back to using my A50's with a very large paperweight (GOXLR) remaining on my desk until someone out there comes up with something new and different.

This is the video I’ve been looking for but I’m still a little confused. I use an hdmi extractor also so it might be slightly different?

Game chat use and party chat on console is the goal, but my console still isn’t detecting my mic (rode podmic). Before this, I didn’t have an aux cable from the stream port to line in, but that didn’t fix it.
