Mark Guiliana and Chris Dave redefined drums for me.

Mark's drumming is alien code, informing them that he has conquered the earthlings.

Mark can play on anything and make it sound good.

That's it! This has to be my next kit.

Love watching and listening to Mark play.. He's so fluid, like the drums are an extension of his limbs.. His work on Bowie's final album is testament to that fact..

Best sounding kit from the new Broadkaster re-issue. I want this kit soo much, but in Antique Pearl Nitron Finish with Vintage Hardware

Mark has no qualms about snare overtones, unlike others, who want to deaden everything.
Great sounding drums.

An exceptionally individual (as in distinctively unique) sound. You can hear Mark before you see him play!

If I ever find a place to live with my drums set up without reservation again I will seriously consider the Brooklyn Broadcaster Gretsch or the Classic series.
The size of the drums and type of drumheads mean the world to me.
I am a lifelong drummer, and I know what I want almost 50 years old, and been at it seriously since early childhood.
I have a limited edition Pearl Brazilian percussion conversion drumset now, but not really able to use it as much time.
For me, Gretsch, even the Catalina Club Jazz series, stood out, over the years, as particularly memorable tone and what I felt as, more like my own instrument, more than anything else I ever had a chance to play, in or out of studios, bars, shows.
The Broadcaster line I feel, in the right drum configuration, could be the Best I have yet to see as a drummer.

18" Bass
14" Floor
12" Tom
Standard all I want.
Best regards,
Austin Emile Centolella

Go and listen to his drumming on Bowie's final album Black Star, and you'll see why the man was chosen by the thin white duke himself. His drumming on every song is haunting, bringing the album to an almost mystical sense, both in performance and sound.

Love these 20” bass drum kits.
Very compact with a great sound.
Big is NOT better.

awesome snare sound. kinda like jimmy chamberlin's but a little fatter on account of the wood.

I like the ring.  Mark uses it to add another dimension to the overall sound.  It sounds like Church Bells ringing, especially around the 2 minute mark.

That felt like watching interpretive dance...

Wonderful drumming on a great drum set. I do wonder if the ringing snare drum would suit say, a modern jazz quartet or quintet?

The snare drum is ringing that way because he´s playing "rim shots", just that.

when I buy a gretsch drumset does it come tuned like this out of box?

Unfortunately a lot of young drummers today, would kill off the natural snare overtones, with tape or moongel.
