14:04 A buddy offered some anecdotal information that cloudstrike had recently laid off or otherwise got rid of a number of QA personnel. He works in IT for a nuke plant and he reiterated the anecdotal nature of what he said.

The linemen are being attacked and driven out of certain areas because the attackers are more interested in keeping the infrastructure in its current state. With the power being out, the attackers have an opportunity to loot unoccupied houses since the residents may have left due to the power outage. Its kind of a situation where criminals see an opportunity to keep the window for potential crime open for longer. There's no other reason to sabotage efforts to restore the infrastructure.

I've been a system administrator in the energy industry for 12 years and I'm not buying it. There is a multi-step approval process and testing process that has to be followed in order for something to be released into the production environment. And I'm speaking as someone who's deployed hundreds of patches to critical energy infrastructure applications. It's either extreme gross incompetence for a malicious actor because there's no way that you can break the protocol of testing before deployment without an entire audit chain pinpointing exactly who did what. Companies like this put huge effort into change management processes and doctrines to avoid just this kind of thing my colleagues and I are scratching our heads
