The best part about the dislike counter was from my experience is that you could basically tell straight away that a tutorial video or giveaway was fake without even watching the video. Especially considering all the comments on the fake tutorial videos were also fake

Not all bot comments are the same; stock spam bots have a series of replies by multiple bots to falsify the sense of security.

i love when Linus has a bit of a rant. i love it because he genuinely cares. And i do the same about things in my life and i am just as exasperated about the lack of common sense in big companies. I wish i was in your part of the world because i would work with you in a heartbeat.

I want to see the real hairdresser do the look he was going for after Linus grows it out again and see the comparison between what Dennis did and what the professional hairdresser does.

"I don't have coarse hair... unlike our sponsor" would've been the greatest segue ever.

On the subject of different characters that fool people:

it's 2022 and the default font on every single major operating system, both desktop and mobile, still has a lowercase l and an uppercase l that are nearly indistinguishable. Either give the l a curve or give the I some serifs.

I don't care about their "design vision" or anything of that sort, usability/safety is more important than looks.

1:12:49 most smartlocks are woefully inadequate in terms of physical security. Lockpicking Lawyer made more than a few videos on them. Those are mostly trash-tier for security priced insanely high. The problem is many times people try their hands at security with ZERO prior knowledge.

Thank you for sharing about Technoblade. I had no idea about him before this show.
What a legend. Rest in peace young boy. 😢

Guys I just want to put this out there, I was pretty now well today (mentally) but all I needed to do was complete my daily dose of LTT (LMG content overall)! Thanks a-lot for all the transparency and ethics alongside amazing especially entertaining ( I mean the comedic nature). Keep it up guys.😉

Dennis is an actual GTA barber. Somehow managed to make the top look longer.

About the YT "Increased strictness" thing, I got access a few weeks back and I noticed within 2 days how crap it was.
At this time they should just employ ThioJoe as the lead dev for channel moderation

"So long, Nerds"
i´ve never even heard of Technoblade, but just from that kind of good bye message i kind of wish i knew him.

YouTube, and Google in general look like they've stopped (or dramatically reduced) using standard business metrics for improvement (things like straight-up asking customers), perhaps because they have such a huge customer base that the hard to parse feedback into meaningful changes is like drinking from a fire hose. Instead, those that have the immediate capacity for change have shifted to using a/b changes based on incomprehensible metrics that have been shoved into an insanely complex regression algorithm. It looks like they're spending insane money to develop features without a clear theme, and then looking at wildly abstract metrics for whether they're working.

Super happy to see Reloptix as a sponsor. They are an amazing company that has changed my life when it comes to VR and are better quality than their competition at about the same price.

1:00:31. Linus gets a bright idea. You can tell by his face that he's going to do it when the time comes.

As long as you can establish that ARM can provide ballpark-comparable performance for general computing workloads, that's enough to spark tons of interest for it on the server, where what really matters is performance _per watt._ For so many use-cases, operations per clock is of no concern, nor per core, and in many cases even I/O is of minimal concern. And to determine if ARM is right for your project, you just need general profiling guidelines, like "ARM is better/worse at branching latency" or "ARM is better/worse at massive parallelism."

If ARM can cope with even just a small class of workloads passably but does it at 1/3rd the energy consumption and half the heat output, you can bet data centers will be very eager to help their customers make the switch.
