"Little Dove" and "little bird" always pissed me off. The hound at least looks at her like that because she's fragile but he calls her "little bird" which still has a wildness and freeness to it.
"Little dove" implies that she's fragile, delicate and caged/ trained for their use and amusement. They're kept bc they're pretty and to be used for things like wedding day releases etc.
