With the Maui fires happening, I can’t but think of all the first responders/ medical professions have seen and the traumatic things that they are going to experience. Here are some ways if you have a partner that is in this field that you can support them on a daily basis:
*Encourage more sleep
*Encourage mental health care if they went on a traumatic call
*prep nutrient dense foods to help support brain and hormone balance
*be aware of how much is too much
*allow space for feelings
*be understand, not enabling

If you have any other ways put them down below!!
Also I want to tag @lahaina_ohana_venmo where you can directly give back to these ohanas that have been impacted by this traumatic event in Maui.

My Father is a firefighter. Since we were babies we would go and visit him at work with our dog. Now looking back at it, I just feel like those moments made his day. He just went back to work after 4 months off.

Dad, if you ever see this somehow, I love you so much <33

God bless the cops, Firefighters, nurses, doctors, military and more for helping those in Maui. My heart truly goes out to the people and animals on that island and I really wish I could rescue you all. Please stay

My father is a firefighter and I must say, he loves whenever me and my brother are allowed to go to the fire station with him and he shows us everything and how they work and it makes him, plus me and my brother happy

My dads a firefighter and the stuff he tells me is just crazy. He goes through so much yet he handled it like a champ. He is the hardest working guy I know. Thank you to all of the first responders

I helped start the Code green campaign in my state after my partner took his life. We knew each other since 2nd grade, went through fire academy together and got on at the same Dept.
Losing him almost killed me, but I’m thankful that first responder trauma and the PTSD we face from what we see is finally being talked about and CISD’s aren’t ever few or far between. I do wildland fire as well, and not long ago the Marshal fire took out my city…tapping dry pumps, all of the smoke damage, fire damage was awful and the devastation was horrific…my heart goes out to you guys out there with the tragedy that recently happened in Maui.
Stay strong brother, this too shall pass. 💚 We are putting together fundraisers to help you all out in any way we can.
And thank you for bringing attention to mental health and first responders 🫶💚 Your wife is an amazing gal! ❤

My dad is in the USCG, and he's also been a first responder. He's been in it ever since I was born, and he's put out fires on boats. I have huge respect for military. Especially people that work in very bad conditions whether mentally, or physically. Thank you. Praying for people in Hawaii.

My husband is a volunteer firefighter, I support him through thick and thin. And I'm always there for him to vent when needed. Alot can happen in this line of duty especially being a wildland firefighter.

Btw, my husband was a furefighter as well and he quit to be with our family when our daughter was 2. It was so so hard for he and I both because as you know, the camaraderie- we love those fellow families. She is 21 now and I know there are no regrets and still the best feelings for our fellow firefighter families. They understood.
