I'm going to guess that 2 out of my 3 have excellent memories because they are smart. I think the third one is basicly a goldfish in a cat body. He has survived on pure luck. 😂 He is the most precious baby though.

my cat is autistic (note: i know it’s not present in cats but he does exhibit a lot of those behaviors as some other kitties do) and as an autist i never really thought that i should treat him how i would myself. i started being cognizant of when he needed his space or if touch was too much, figured out which spots i can pet without him getting uncomfortable.. i’ve found recently that we’re a lot closer since i’ve started that. they’re so insanely intelligent and emotional!!

My cat passed away last week at 24 years old. She had nearly a quarter century of memories 🥹

Really appreciate the info. you share.Always helpful. 🎉 I always believed they remembered but often been told otherwise. My 4 sweet angels came injured. They were dumped, hungry, injured & scared. Sometimes I wish they didnt remember, how terrifying it had to have been. They've come a long way but their care continues. We have lots of coyotes, foxes, bear & bobcats...that's why I believe in miracles, they managed to survive. Thank you again 💓

My cats are better at my schedule than I am! We recently got a new couch and put some
plastic on the side where they were scratching and my husband was about to put some on our door and I said absolutely not!!! They’ve saved me so many times when I’m sleeping on my phone or forget to set my alarm by scratching on my door @ exactly 545am! lol

In the past year, I’ve lost 3 of my 4 cats to cancer (almost literally — the 1st anniversary of my Cocoa going over the rainbow bridge is April 26, 2024). Now it’s me & Tig-Tig. I’m worried about him, about what it’s like for him suddenly being a solitary cat (and I had 8 cats back in 2017…it’s been a lot of loss for both of us). There was also a lot of vet bills & I went on disability after taking in all those kitties (most were from the streets of my neighborhood). Tig-Tig himself has IBD. I’d like to pay off that debt before I adopt any more.

He was definitely agitated when I came home with an empty carrier for the last time. Is he missing the company of fellow felines or enjoying that he’s now King of His Castle and Sole Leader of His Human?
