Currently, the anonymous login functionality is not working - and Google is rumored to be deleting some Google accounts used through Aurora. I’m using Aurora on my Quest 3 as it’s probably easier than putting the actual Google Play stuff on there. That and I love FOSS.

I’d use Linux if my specific games worked on it.

About 2 weeks ago I got new phone on which I'm not gonna setup any google account, and tried to use aurora, and yeah too bad, anonymous nor insecure anonymous logins weren't working, so I uninstalled it.
Fortunately most apps providing the same functionality I wanted are on f-droid and rest I can get from apk mirror (though I'm very hesistant to use this one) ;)

typical Android, hundred shanenigans constantly changing in order to use your phone properly. at least on iPhone i know what i have, my accounts feels safe
