Iris Gonzalez - Nothing but Flowers

De Galerie Den Haag & Rotterdam spent the day with photographer Iris Gonzalez, following her process of creating a floral still life: from picking the right flowers, straight through to her studio where Iris constructs the perfect arrangement to photograph.

For Iris Gonzalez, flowers are everything. Yet building a bouquet to photograph does not only include picking the most obviously beautiful flowers, but rather Iris also finds beauty in decay, making use of flowers in various states of bloom to create an interesting still life, staged to perfection and lush with interesting detail and colour.
