How to JOIN YARN the INVISIBLE WAY (2 Methods with No Knots!)

In this video, I'll show you how to join yarn in knitting.

When you've run out of yarn, you'll need to join a new ball. There are a bunch of ways to join yarn, but the two that stand the test of time are:

The Russian Join and the Spit Splice.

These two yarn joins are invisible and seamless, meaning no knots! The Russian Join works with any type of yarn fibre (animal, natural and synthetic yarns) while the Spit Splice only works with animal fibres.

These two yarn joins are secure, elegant, and fairly simple to work. I'll show you how to do both of them and include a tip about troubleshooting!

By the end of this video, you'll know how to join yarn together using either the Russian Join or the Spit Splice.

I did it! I can't tell you how excited I am to know this! I've been crocheting for over 50 years and have weaved in and hidden SO many little ends ... the worst part of any project. This is the first tutorial of yours I've seen, and it's a game-changer! I plan to watch more of yours. I love your clear voice, your humor, and that you don't go too fast - everything! Thank you, thank you! I'm going to share this 'how-to' with everyone!

My Mama used to use the spit join I couldn’t remember exactly how she executed the process. Thankfully your video answered my question. I am knitting an all wool hat and
I employed this method! Superb! My Mama would say “ brava”!
I will be washing this hat and then blocking it.
It will be my daughter’s birthday gift!
Thank you!

I just tried the Russian join and it worked perfect for the scarf I'm making my mom. Thank you so much for your tips. I'm new to knitting and the only reason I been able to knit scarfs and hats for my family it's because of your tutorials. Please never stop.

This video was so helpful. Thank you for your great tutorials. You taught me to knit about a month ago and I have already made four scarves and a cowl. I LOVE this! Please put more videos up! I want to knit a blanket for my son to take to college next year, so I bought some circular needles that are 60 inches to use for this project. I would be tickled pink if you could post a video tutorial on how to make a regular size blanket!!! Thank you SO much for being such a great teacher (and for your humor, too)!

Thanks for making this vid! Of all the Russian join tutorials, you really clarified a few things up for me. They never showed the trick of holding short end & re-bunching to tighten it up if it turned out too loose the 1st time. This is gonna change my knitying life forever! :D

Davina your tutorials are sensational! I only discovered your channel last night and I have learned so much. I binged watched big time! I am ready now to outknit my mother who is a professional knitter and has been doing so for 60 years. I reckon I can show her a trick or two! Clear, concise and exceptionally cute (pixelated spit cracked me up) ..I am totally hooked on sheep & stitch .. You give a unique and contagious energy to the craft, Thank you so much Greetings from Australia!!

Divina! Omgoodness that spit splice is sooo easy, quick and effective! I'm knitting alpaca socks and I was so mad at my yarn for having so many ends. Now I can fix it in like 1 minute and keep knitting.

From my wife and myself, Thank you so much, after trying many so called invisible joining methods, this is the only one that completely removes loose ends. May never tie a knot again :)

My grandma showed me how to join thread together with spit to make string. Thanks for that. Brilliant. Especially love the troubleshooting!

This is a great tutorial. I used to have a burrowing gremlin, but he retired to Bora Bora. I miss him.
