This is also called the fisherman's knot. Fishermen use this to join two slippery lines together. I learnt this during my guiding days. Very useful. Cheers!

Perfect instructions! So many crocheteres on Youtube, even some of my favourite and most respected ones, get this wrong. As others have said here, the trick is to have both knots exactly the same, NOT symmetrical, then they click together really well. That's the way you show it, thank you so much for sharing!

This is the BEST and EASIEST Magic Knot I have ever done. I will never use any other Magic Knot instruction. I cannot tell you how excited and happy I am that I came across this. Thank you Hopeful Honey!

PERFECT 👍 Thanks! Your hands don't hide what you're doing and you talk us through it. I'm using this knot to make face masks adjustable.

Thank you for this. I use it all the time. I am 68 years old and started knitting when I was 10. I never knew about this. You are wonderful to share this with other knitters and I thank you for that. It works and is easy to learn and if I forget I can refer back to your video.

Love this knot. I’ve been using it for a few years now. However, I am currently using a ‘soft and shiny’ loops and threads yarn. For the first time ever, the knot has come apart in two places within my current knitting project. I feel it is because the yarn is very slippery. Just beware all. Happy knitting.

Thank you! I've been knitting for years and never knew you could join in the middle of your work. I always had to rip back to an edge! Perfect video!!

I found this video last year when I was connecting various lengths of yarn together. It's by far the best video I found. Recently it occurred to me I could perhaps join two threads together. When I'm sewing with my serger and one of my four spools runs out, it's a pain in the butt to take all the thread out of the machine and rethread all four, just to replace one spool. The magic knot works perfectly with thread too! :-) ~Lynn

Every other video or article I've tried to consult about joining yarn so that I don't have to weave in my ends has made zero sense, this is the first one that actually explains it easily! Tysm <3

I have seen this video a while back a d just tucked away in my brain, but it really saved me today for which I am very grateful for, I'm working on a test pattern for someone and was a quarter of the way, put it up in my project bag, came back 10 minutes later to find my chihuahua chewed the yarn in half a d was trying to eat it, needless to say your video was a life saver, even though I keep what I make but I will be donating this project. Thank you for the magic knot video.

Thanks!! I've been using this technique for about 8 months now. It's the best way I've ever joined ends. Be sure to follow the steps or you'll have a simple knot that'll pull loose. I always lay the ends out just as pictured.

HopefulHoney - You are a LIFE-SAVER - I never knew about this trick and always wanted to know how to do this ESPECIALLY when making bracelets and I actually stumbled upon this video on accident - I am so thankful and I am simply amazed at how it actually will NOT come undone when you cut the ends flush to clean it up just like you THANK YOU SO MUCH - I LOVE THIS TRICK!!!!

Thank you so much. I tried it today when I found a knot in the yarn I was using. I cut out the knot and used this technique. I’m in love. Thanks again.
