My absolute favorite way to join yarn for knitting projects. It is super strong and easy to work. It does leave a small knot so I suggest joining yarn near the edge of a project instead of the middle.

You can also use some fray check to prevent it from fraying. It acts as a glue so it won't show up layer in your work

This could just be me but I did this knot and it came apart with a very light pull even though I followed the instructions to a T 😅

A knot in your knitting is NOT nice. It creates weird stitches around the knot There are better ways. Try a nd find the Russian joint on YouTube.

How about the Russian joint. See YouTube. Much nices than a knot in your knitting.
