Jessica's argument for Kamala Harris is fairly weak in terms of her accomplishments. She has excelled in obtaining high positions in politics, however, her impact in these positions is minimal at best. Unfortunately, discussing merit with race is toxic. For someone like Robby, if he argues too aggressively he will be labelled a racist.

JD Vance wasn't just placed at the top of the ticket. VP is largely just a vanity position. Kamala was just anointed as the Dem presidential candidate without haveing to got through any electoral process.

As Robby pointed out, it was specifically mentioned in the debate. She's definitely a DEI hire. By that, I also don't think he was saying she was unqualified. He said that leads to mediocrity, meaning that by shrinking the pool of possibilities to a specific group, you're potentially excluding a better candidate. Especially when it comes to who's going to be running the country, I think meritocracy, blind of race/gender identity, should be the standard.
