Same as boxing tho, they changed rules in the beginning because somethings were too brutal, then later they had to add things in to make it more exciting and brutal… because One thing, it’s prizefighting and the mob wants to see ko’s and blood, that’s the 💰 not rubbing balls the whole fight or holding in boxing or Muay Thai, the crowd will boo, like kids in the back of the school … fk that stand them up … rockem sockem … we all love to see a dramatic back n forth match with two men wowing us with everything they have and showing much heart ect.

That is the difference of street vs ring/caged/managed rules! Street has none of it, don't fight or make it count!

I'm confused - is he talking about the mounter just laying and praying OR is he referring to the one on the bottom? Because he seems to flit between the two when talking. i.e. Which is the position of the fighter doing nothing he is saying gets an unfair reward by both being stood up?

I love a good stand up. Unless theres ground and pound or submissions, I dont want to see them rolling around not doing shit. People pay to see that bullshit. Also, dont want to see 2 guys high fiving or acting like "bros" hate that shit too.

It’s not a street fight, it’s a spectacle. You wouldn’t be in a major promotion for very long by just holding onto dear life, the fans have a huge controlling over the trajectory of a fighter. Belal for example, boring fighter but has earned his title shot, but how long did it take to get that? Once he loses, the promotion will forget about him bc the fans hate watching him fight. He’s only in the position he’s in bc of his wins, not the fans
