How do airplanes fly?

When an airplane is in the sky, it still has the same weight as it does on the ground. However, we don't feel its weight when it is flying above us. Each airplane can weigh hundreds of tons, and around 10,000 airplanes are flying at any given time.
Why don't we feel the weight of airplanes on the ground? Where does the weight of a flying airplane go, and what holds it up? This video explains how the weight of flying airplanes works and helps us understand how they stay airborne.

Wrong.

Lift is generated because the wing accelerates air downward as it passes. When a force acts to move a mass (the wing moving air), the Newtonian “equal and opposite reaction” force imparts the lift to the wing.
