Gabriel, your love of Greece shines through when you film in our beautiful country! I may be biased, but you seem to be the happiest when you’re on a Greek island, exploring and discovering quiet beaches, off the beaten path nature trails, and ancient ruins. Face it, you’re Greek at heart! 🇬🇷

Asking if Alexander was Macedonian or Greek is like asking if Leonidas was Spartan or Greek, or if Socrates was Athenian or Greek.
Socrates was a Greek from Athens, Leonidas was a Greek from Sparta and Alexander was a Greek from Macedonia.

Also, Aristotle was from Macedonia, and specifically from the ancient Macedonian city of Stageira in Halkidiki.
Would anyone dare to ask if Aristotle was Greek or not?

Gabriel go to Vergina. There is a museum that will knock you off your shoes. It is basically King Phillips tomb transformed into a Museum. Correction: Ancient Greek to Modern Greek is not the same as Old English to Modern English. There is very little difference between Ancient and modern Greek. This is why this language, with the dead language of Latin is used for scientific purposes. In addition when Alexander the Great invaded he spread Ancient Greek culture because Ancient Greek culture was Macedonian culture. As for your language claim, I am sure there were some phonetic differences but written language was Greek: proof is in the inscriptions.

To make long story short: Alexander was Greek from Macedonia and Aristotle (the philosopher) too, the same way Leonidas was Greek from Sparta and Socrates Greek from Athens.
If Macedonians weren't Greek they hadn't been allowed to participate in the Olympic games which was ONLY for Greek athletes.

It's like William Wallace who was British from Scotland...

Thanks for showing us the greatest history of Alexandria and his empire, also about the country and it's formation. Truly it's an incredible story, your kind of explanation and researching capability clears the concept of it.

Alexander earned the respect of people with hard work.

I am Anatolian(Kurdish/Turkish) whose land was conquered by him many years ago. However, I Respect and Value him Highly as an Anatolian.

I don't see him as an Invader. He deserved and Earned our respect.

He was different. He was Fearless. He was the man of Value.

Although He was from Hellenic Culture. For me, He was someone that I would die willingly. He did not force his man instead He explains why they should fight for him.

I am so sad that we have little knowledge about his daily routine and what drove him.

I believe many of his life details were recorded by Ptolemy and documented in the great library of Alexandria/Egypt Which was lost to fire...
Where I was born Mezepotiamia has seen many Great Leaders and Kings. But None was like Alexander, Iskender the way we call him.

My Hometown has Ancient Castles/Graves Ruins from his Era with Greek Writing.

Throughout my life, I sometimes did sit next to those ruins and thought about him.

I wish I was with him to go through his glorious journey together.
He had many wrongdoings However He was special Regardless.

Your Name will stay in Anatolia and Mesopotamia for Thousands of years...

You're really lucky that you are at the palace without lots of tourists. Imagine how beautiful that palace must've been while it was lived in. The walls must've had gorgeous paintings, the furniture, the bedrooms, the living rooms, the throne room.. Right where you are standing, people, royalty, friends, parties, conversations, daily lives, love stories, sadness... If those stone mosaic floors could only speak. What tales they would tell! So amazing. I love it.

Gabriel the etymology of his name: ΑΛΕΞ (Alex) + ΑΝΔΡΟΣ (Andros) which means in ancient Greek he who removes men, he who fights men, he who is a fighter. Also the etymology of his father Philipp's name is: ΦΙΛ (Phil) + ΙΠΠΟΣ (Ippos) which means friend of horse. Finally his mother was named ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΔΑ ( Olympiada).

Definitely doing historic sites with narrative content is a good move, given the plethora of city walking tours on the increase.
