I'm one of the protesting students from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. We are definitely not politically backed and we don't need to be politically backed at all as we are fighting for our justified rights. There are 56% quotas (solely 30% of which are dedicated to the grandchildren(!!) of freedom fighters) for 1st class Civil service jobs and up to 96% for other government jobs.. which is sheer nonsense.So we were totally peacefully protesting for a quota reformation act. But the government backed political students' group and police kept targeting us for the last two days and the PM herself made very humiliating remarks about us. This whole system is rotten and all we are asking for is our very own rights!!!
