A friend who is a law enforcement officer gave me these steps. 1) Park safely and turn off the engine. 2) Turn on the cabin light if its dark enough. 3) Roll down the windows ( in particular if darkened) ). 5) Do not reach for the glove box until asked todo so. 6) Keep your hands ON the steering wheel. 7) Be polite ( I actually stole that from Chris Rock who is hilarious🤣 ). Officers wonder if that traffic stop will be their last day on Earth. I have experienced trying to de escalate an angry, overly aggressive and disrespectful person. If you have not, try to think how you would react. It takes time and training to learn how to do it. And yes I have experienced that Barney Fife officer who is more akin to the T-1000 cop from The Terminator. Same attitude of what I saw with Mr Hill, despite doing everything as described above. There is always some who give police officers a bad name .But in other encounter I was stopped by one who actually gave me a considerable break explicitly because of the same steps. No bad attitude at all. He did his job as required and I left knowing that not all are T-1000's.

Hill was! He started off, after being stopped for excessive speeding, being a smartass, and then put the officers in danger by rolling up his tainted windows, and slow with rolling it back down. If he wanted respect, he should’ve showed respect.

Whether or not the officer is right or wrong could have gone very bad for Tyreek The best thing to do was to comply and not get into a power struggle.

I think it’s real simple. If Hill initially rolled down his window, gave the cop his license and registration, and didn’t give him an attitude, would anything else ensued?

Nobody is happy when you get pulled over, but if you don’t provoke the cop like 99% of people who do not, NONE of this would have happened to Hill. Even if the cop is a jerkoff, you take your medicine and hope he doesn’t give you a ticket that gives you points that increases your insurance. But Hill is a millionaire athlete who thinks he’s above the law cause 60, 000 cheer for him every Sunday.

Poll question: Both were at fault. Officer was clearly on a power trip; and Tyreek's mind was clearly on the game to be played within hours. One portion of the video was not shown. Tyreek was kicked in the back of his knee to force him down to the sidewalk. He voiced several times that he has had knee surgery and to not kick him. Sure enough, he was kicked from behind.

A traffic stop for speeding for me has always been a ticket and on your way. Even those times where I challenged the officer, it never escalated to the point that I was removed from the vehicle and in cuffs. Of course, I was in a cheap car so no threat to the officers ego.
Although the driver could have been more cooperative, he was cooperative enough by law. They had already identified him as a football player, they knew he was no threat. Watch the police. This is what a Male Inflated ego looks like in full display. I'd talk with his spouse to see if he has ever used language like that - "you didn't listed to Sounds like there could be more trouble with this officer than just this simple event.

He was speeding, excessively. Not just speeding. And either his license plate or his license itself were expired. So he has nothing to stand on here. Just obey the officers and do what they ask.
