Anyone can say that Samsung wins this comparison, but at the end of the day, TouchWiz is still Touchwiz. The icons are hideous, the color scheme and bevy of toggles is just outdated. People can say all they want about the phone giving half a charge in 10 minutes, but what good is that if you constantly have to charge the phone, with only a 2, 550 mAh battery, and a 577 ppi QHD screen at only 5 inches?  In this day and age where about 3, 000 mAh is standard, they REDUCE the battery size, from even 2, 800 mAh on the S5? It doesn't make sense to me.  Samsung took their initial design template, and basically just slapped two sheets of glass on both sides and glossed it up.  While I see plenty of people in an uproar over the M9's design, HTC's M-series design has been lauded as the best in the industry.  And while the M9 is an iterative release, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"--improve on it.  Seemingly, HTC has done so.

Also, while I know I'll get flack for this, I defy anyone to tell me that the S6 is not a ripoff of both the iPhone and Xperia.  Yes, before anyone says, "oh, well Apple's copied Samsung, etc...", companies borrow ideas from other companies; that's the way it works.  If you're Samsung, though, don't go pounding your chests, trying to convince people that you're the most innovative company, both in terms of design and performance. I'm not one to be swayed by a device that is yet to be proven, that just as easily could be a shiny turd.

Oh, and for those that say the M9 looks too much like the M8, I think they've been afforded that right.  Now, if they rest on their laurels next year, then we can talk.

Its crazy that Im rethinking about getting the M9, I understand they cant revolutionize the design every year but the s6 edge is like a breath of fresh of air.

Well I'm still rocking my m7, so I guess the upgrade will be between this two, well see which one performes better, however I want to see how the gorilla glass 4 does against scratches since I hate cases on phones

Too many htc fanboys. People may blindly claim that the m9 is better but the only "advantage" of the m9 is the design and software ui which are both heavily subjective. Nothing about the htc one is better

all these htc fans have absolutely no clue what they are dealing with here. s5 vs m8? sure m8 might suit you better. but s6 vs m9???? i mean
For starters m8's processor heats up and throttles like a bitch while exynos 7420 is an unbelievable beast. s6 has twice the pixels and yet it crushes both the gflex and m9 in on-screen performance.(and by a HUGE margin) and battery life? S6 LASTS 10~20% LONGER THAN THE S5. YEAH. WITH ALL THAT SMALL BATTERY AND HIGH RESOLUTION AND PERFORMANCE. HTC M9 IS NOT EVEN CLOSE. WTF ARE THEY EVEN TRYING??

For a true samsung device, the removal of micro sd card slot and removable battery is going be an issue. Thats the features i love most on their devices so i might start looking at alternative option.

I honestly can't decide between the two of these I love the all metal construction of the HTC one m9 but I also love glass on glass design of the so I'm torn

Battery is my biggest feature pull atm, i had the great screens and features and speakers etc etc, now i want great battery (at least better) and for the moment htc looks stronger in battery life, 1080p draws less power with a no pixel visible display 441ppi and now a larger battery with a less power hunger 810 chip. while samsung 2k display uses more power and the battery is cut way down its less than the galaxy s4.

The S6 is starting to grow on me, but I'd still rather take the M9. Touchwiz is still hideous, and c'mon what's with the small battery and the SD card slot? HTC managed to give us one, why couldn't Samsung do that? No, cloud storage is not a solution for me. And I simply can't see myself living without dual front facing speakers and a built in amplifier. One of the things that no one talks about is the sound volume with headphones, HTC completely blows Samsung out of the water in that department. That's a phone you can actually use high end headphones with, because you're still gonna get some really high volumes. Another thing is build quality, yes, the S6 has Gorilla glass 4. But glass is glass. It's still gonna break if you drop it. And it has ON BOTH sides. HTC phones are less shatter prone than most other phones because the glass doesn't go all the way to the edges because of the speakers. I like HTC's One series because generally they're just good, bullshit proof all around (except for the quirky, hit or miss cameras). Nevertheless if you buy one you can rest assured it's gonna be a good phone.
