If my memory serves me correctly, there is a polypore mushroom that has been found to clean radioactive soil. I believe this is found in Russia at the Chernobyl disaster area. Happy foraging and mush love!

Did it ever occur to you that, even though these mushrooms may have the capability to do these things, that it would be insanely impossible for these mushrooms to be used practically to clean up the pollution from just that one fallout, let alone all the other environmental toxins that are being produced, daily?
This would be like bringing a teaspoon of water to a nuclear explosion, saying "water has the ability to put out a fire. "
It's really cool that these mushrooms can do these things, but to suggest that they can be used to clean up even a miniscule fraction of the pollution, would be unrealistic, to put it mildly.
