I’ve owned a 1977 182Q for about two years now. I live just outside of LA. These numbers are pretty accurate to what I’ve experienced. Your first annual can be expensive depending on the quality of the plane at purchase. But I’ve noticed the annuals are pretty reasonable (2k-3k). Highly recommend a owner assisted annual if you have the time, tools, and a hangar. Great way to learn about your airplane and you can visibly inspect the different systems on the aircraft. Wonderful airplane as a cross country/ IFR training aircraft. I recommend a stiff legged 182. It’ll save you on maintenance costs at annual, and insurance.

Neat channel. I've been watching several of your videos. My 182 needed an engine and prop. I spent $64, 000 on those two things and then went to the avionics shop. I have over 21, 000 hours, but had never flown a 182 before I bought one. It is definitely my favorite G/A airplane. It lifts anything and goes pretty fast. Great choice.

as an owner of a C182-H (1965 model), these numbers are very accurate... right up until you decide you want to "upgrade" something, which is a great way to spend your tax refund and then some.

Our club 182 goes for $160/tach hour, and fixed costs are shared by all 80 members (we operate 4 aircraft ) The estimate here is very accurate.

Prices seem to be increasing from what I’ve read online about previous purchase prices 1-5 years back. From what I can see today, 182P models from early 70s start at around $170k for ones with old avionics/6 packs and no damage and sometimes complete logbooks.
