Sony A5000 vs. A6100 I Video 🎥 & Photo 📸 Test - good for 2024 ? I 4K

I had the a5000 and just recently got rid of it. Nothing "wrong" with it, but I was not using it. I have an a6400 and a Lumix G85 and generally use one or the other of those. Looking at your results, if you want to "match" the images, you need to add a touch of "blue" to the a5000's results. One thing I never bothered to test was "rolling shutter" on the a5000. If you could do a comparison for "rolling shutter", that would be interesting.

Но sony не оставил меня равнодушным из за своей компактности. И я позже приобрел sony a5000. Я ни разу не пожалел об этом. И она до сих пор актуальна и в фотографии мало чем уступает.

For me, the conclusion here is kinda referencing the tech spec and not unlocking the reality that these sensors are the same and one is slightly more limited than the other. Sony did hear what all camera manufactures do. The A5000 is capable of 24MP and 4k video. Sony engineers limited the sensor because this is how camera manufacturers maintain economy of scale and keep product ranges alive and product updates rolling. If you knew how many cameras, especially the professional stable, have the same processors/sensors and are limited for production runs, you would all be astounded. Of course there are exceptions, depending on model/manufacturer. You need to jump 2 notches up before Sony put a different class of sensor in the A series. You should have got away from only focusing on the green foliage and used a wider spectrum of colour, to compare the cameras. Sound wasn't even mentioned, or build issues. Please don't misunderstand, I am not criticising, for the sake of it, it's great that you bothered to do the comparison, I am just pointing out a few things that would have improved the review. The truth is 20/24 MP, equates to zero real world difference, the processing logs and the output will be very similar. Of course since the codec/readout is limited on 5000, 4k gives the 6100 the edge, but looking at the output for most people depending on monitor is again difficult to separate. Question, in your opinion, based on your eyes, which "green" was the most accurate for the bush in your comparison, the deeper shade of the 5100 or the lighter side from the 6100?
